World Of Coca-Cola: Celebrates History Of The Coke
The World of Coca-Cola is a museum located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, Georgia. I went there on the Memorial day weekend last month during my trip to Atlanta and had an amazing time! It celebrates the history and culture of Coke, one of America’s favorite soft drinks. The museum is located on a 20-acre complex across Baker Street from Centennial Olympic Park just a few blocks away from where John Pemberton initially created the formula for Coca-Cola. Coke has introduced over 125 years ago in the city of Atlanta and itโs corporate headquarters has remained there ever since.
The World of Coca-Cola offers 90-minutes walking tour where you get an opportunity to explore everything about Coke through more than 1000 artifacts, artworks, video and sound. As soon as you will enter the museum, you will get complimentary coke in a bottle as a welcome drink. Then your tour guide will begin your journey in the World of Coca-Cola by giving a little background about the rich history of the coke. Later, you will enter inside Coca-Cola theater where you will see ‘Moments of Happiness’ – a 6 minutes video which celebrates lifeโs everyday moments experienced by people around the world. You will feel overwhelmed by seeing the people sharing their joys from the different parts of the world in the video. The doors open once the video finishes, allowing you to explore all of the museumโs offerings on your own.
The museum includes collections of memorabilia from throughout Coke’s history, including advertisements and collectibles as well as artwork featuring Coke’s iconic image. There is also a 4D – movie about Coca-Cola and a chance to interact with characters like the famous Coca-Cola polar bear. Highlights of the museum include a mini bottling plant that allows you to see the operation of a fully functioning bottling line which produces commemorative 8-ounce bottles of Coca-Cola Classic.
The ‘Vault of the Secret Formula,’ is a big attraction of the World of Coca-Cola which is an interactive exhibit that gives you the glimpse of the rich history, mythology and intrigue around the secret Coca-Cola formula. A copy of the formula is actually guarded in a stronghold in the museum and the vault may be as close as anyone will ever get to see the most closely guarded trade secret in history. You are only allowed to capture the picture but can’t touch the vault because if you will cross the security warning line, the alarm will start ringing. And it may lead you into trouble!
Another attraction of the World of Coca-Cola is ‘Taste It’ exhibit where you can sample over 60 different types of Coke drinks from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America are available for unlimited sampling. You can even mix several drinks and make your own mocktails. There is also a Coca-Cola Freestyle self-serve machine, which can dispense your choice of over 100 carbonated and non-carbonated beverages produced by the company. You also get a free bottle of Coca-Cola as you exit and enter the World of Coca-Cola store where you can purchase all kinds of Coke souvenirs. A must visit for anyone who loves the soft drink.
The World of Coca-Cola is an iconic attraction in Atlanta not only for adults but kids too, to explore about world’s most popular soft drink. If you ever get an opportunity to visit Atlanta, don’t forget to stop here and I bet, you won’t regret it!

June 29, 2016I never knew that there was a Coca Cola museum. Looks like a nice place to visit. I bet seeing the evolution of the Coke bottle was interesting. I did a marketing research once on the history of the war between Coke and Pepsi ๐
