How To Look Beautiful & Picture Ready While Traveling?
Traveling is an intense whirlwind of excitement and adventure, but when you’re on the plane or in the car, it can be a long time before your next shower or even a private bathroom. Aside from the stress of actually getting to your destination, walking around town and exploring the countryside often brings beauty challenges of its own. Here is the list of few beauty tips that will make you look beautiful and picture ready throughout your trip!
Blot away sweat with rice or blotting paper
Sweat is inevitable, but you may not have many opportunities to wash your face if you’re stuck on a plane or a car for a long time, and not when you’re trekking around in nature. The stress of traveling or just the strain of walking uphill can also cause you to sweat a little more than usual. Use blotting paper throughout your trip to remove excess oil.
Moisturize with the facial mist
If you’re traveling for a long time, your skin can start looking dull, pale, or dry out. This is especially true for long flights, where the cabin pressure and cool air can irritate delicate skin. Climate change from one zone to another might also wreak havoc on your skin – leaving in summer and suddenly stepping out into a colder, dry climate is sure to affect your skin. If you notice your skin looking a little worse for the wear, spray on a facial mist to do away with dull complexion and instantly energize your skin.
Take off your makeup when you go to sleep
This is a basic beauty rule, but some people forget to follow it when they’re traveling. Whether you’re sleeping on a plane, bus, or roughing it and sleeping in a tent, remember to remove your makeup and wash your face to remove dirt and oil. If you don’t have access to running water or a bathroom, bring facial wipes with you.
Apply a moisturizer or serum before you sleep to hydrate skin
Before going to bed, moisturize. Use a serum or moisturizer with antioxidants to protect your skin from photoaging and a humectant to lock in moisture. It will keep your skin hydrated all night, which is perfect for extra-dry plane rides. Don’t forget to use an eye cream so your eyes don’t look puffy the next day. Choose one of the best anti-aging products with retinol to get rid of fine lines.
Treat tired and dry red eyes with eye drops
There are so many ways your eyes can become irritated, dry, and red while you’re traveling. They get strained from watching TV on planes, dry out from cool temperatures, and can even get red or puffy from the allergens you encounter on your trip. Not to mention the fact late nights out exploring might leave your eyes a bit bloodshot the next day. Bring a bottle of eye drops to refresh them when they start to feel dry or irritated.
Wash your hair with a dry shampoo
Bring a small bottle of dry shampoo with you so you can give your hair a little extra volume and clean up greasy roots. Sitting in the same position with your head pressed against the back of a chair can flatten out your hair while long rides often leave hair greasy. Dry shampoo also comes in handy if you’re in particularly balmy climates and want to freshen up for a night out without having to shower again and backpackers or campers who can’t afford luxurious suites and private bathrooms. Take a few minutes to touch up your hair with a dry shampoo to get the camera ready.
Bring and use lots of sunscreens
No matter where you are in the world, you’re going to be exposed to harmful rays. To prevent sunburns and protect against signs of early aging, bring and use a lot of sunscreens.
Wear less makeup and use natural tones
If you’re trapped in a bumpy car or bus, touching up your makeup will be more than a challenge. Instead of worrying about maintaining dramatic colors and designs, choose something simple that you can fix in a flash. Use the basics and pick colors that complement your skin but won’t draw attention if you aren’t able to get to a mirror (and stable surface!) in time.
These tips should help you get through your trip in style so that you can snap amazing pictures of the landscape and your beautiful self in it. If your skin is showing signs of photoaging and you still don’t feel picture ready, try improving your complexion and treating fine lines with a wrinkle care product like Dermagist.

September 9, 2016I think I need to add dry shampoo to my list, and I ALWAYS forget to take off my makeup. I’m so bad. I think it comes with the territory of baby & toddler care. Mommy care gets pushed to the back a bit.

September 8, 2016I never really wear sunscreen. I don’t usually get real burnt but when I went on a cruise the past year I got really burnt, but still didn’t put on sunscreen I guess I just like the tan, but won’t be saying that when I get older that is for sure.

September 8, 2016I do try to wear natural makeup when traveling, because I don’t want to deal with dramatic eyeliner and mascara getting smeared while I’m out and about. I think the joy and confidence that a good trip brings can definitely help make you look good!

September 8, 2016What a great post! If I said I travel a lot, that would be an understatement. Most of my travels consist of outdoors hiking trails so this was an awesome read! I will definitely remember to blot before pictures now. Got any tips on how to tame wild hiking hair? 😀
