Statement Jewelry For Fall 2016

Statement pieces of jewelry are for women who are defining themselves as unique, passionate and interesting. Of course, statement jewelry isn’t something new, but most women are choosing not to wear eye-catching accessories because they simply don’t want to get out of their comfort zone. This type of jewelry is bold and unique, and it gives a statement about who is wearing it. It is usually big and it draws attention to itself and the wearer.

Pearls

They are just screaming – glamor. I don’t know about you, but when I think pearls, the only picture I have in my head is a sexy lady from the ’50s in a long black dress with a slit and evening gloves sitting in a big red armchair, smoking a cigarette out of a cigarette holder and drinking Dom Perignon. No matter how fast the fashion is progressing, this vintage holy grail of jewelry will always somehow find it’s way to shine. However, there has been some changes. For example, now you can see pearls being matched with metals and stones which made them look a little bit urbaner.

Chokers

Oh yeah baby, bring that 90s back! Of course, chokers have evolved a lot lately, so don’t instantly think about those throat-squeezing black ones. I’m talking about color, texture, different designs. Basically, you can find a choker for any opportunity now – from cinema to opera night.

Vintage necklaces

Bling baby, bling! These type of necklaces are all about zircons, gems or crystals. It is literally like you robbed a french Baroque museum or Tutankhamun’s tomb.

Statement rings

They are always popular since they can be worn with any outfit. Usually, they have that big and colorful gemstones. Each gemstone has spiritual or physical properties which give them meaning. They can send very powerful messages since their purpose is to speak for themselves. For example, birthstones – so wild, but yet so mystic. Different colors also have different meanings.  Carnelian is of courage, malachite is for calmness and aquamine is for communication. Of course, there is a bunch of other colors and designs that have different meanings.

Unique earrings

Lately, a lot of world-famous designers have decided to launch all kinds of statement earrings. When it comes to earrings, you should know that they draw a lot of attention to your face so you should be very cautious when applying makeup. They are speaking for themselves. If you decide on wearing them, don’t put any other piece of jewelry except maybe a gentle ring, because if you put two pieces of statement jewelry, you will look like a hippie, and simply that much cluttering is absolutely unnecessary.

That would be it, I know you will rock all these accessories. Enjoy the coldness!

    1. That pearl choker is stunning. I never used to wear much jewellery until I bought myself a whole lot of fun statement necklaces and earring a year ago. I absolutely love it now.

    1. I think the right jewellery can make an outfit and I own at least one of all the jewellery you’ve mentioned (apart from statement rings – I don’t know why but I just don’t wear them!)
