GPSMyCity: Best Travel App For Your Personal Guided Tours & City Walks
In the age of smartphones, travel apps are like guiding stars at the ease of your fingertips. Whether you’re looking for the perfect vacation, searching for the best deals on hotels and flights, accessing an easy transit guide anywhere in the world or mastering the airport wait, certainly, there is an app for that! But most of the good apps require the internet connection or huge amount of data.
Whenever you’re planning your trip, I’m sure you must be doing little homework related with your to go destination. You must be searching on Google about best things to see or reading various articles about your destination and bookmarking it for your reference before your trip.
You’re so lucky if you’ve got an internet access available on your phone at a destination so that you can refer to your bookmarked articles but if you’re out of coverage area or you might not even have a cell phone plan for the country you are visiting…Dang! What will you do then?
Don’t worry! I came across this awesome new GPSMyCity travel app that will totally resolve your problem!
What is GPSMyCity?
GPSMyCity is a self-guided walking tours apps on iOS and Android for exploring cities on foot. You can find travel articles that have GPS coordinates embedded in the articles and a map of the route the author described in his/her article. The walks may be general (like “Paris Highlights”), or thematic (such as the “Murray Hill Architecture Walk” in New York). And you can find literally thousands of this city walk app articles (from over 600 worldwide cities) at GPSMyCity related with your specific area of interests such as food tours, walking tours, history or fashions tours, shopping, fine-dining places etc.
How does GPSMyCity app work?
There are two ways to access article apps on your IOS and Android devices. You can either click on the link at the end of a blog post that has been turned into an app (if you haven’t already downloaded the free GPSMyCity app you will be prompted to do so). Or, once you have the GPSMyCity app, you can browse by the city to see what articles are available. You can then download the article for free or upgrade for offline use and GPS tracking.
Once this app is downloaded to your phone, you will not need any internet to use the article as a guide. That means you can read it on the airplane, or while following a walk, even if you don’t have internet access. It will show you right where you are on the map and guide you to each subsequent location! If you decide you want it to be a GPS-guided article, all you do is pay a small fee to upgrade (about $1.00 which is even cheaper than your one cup of coffee)!

September 22, 2016I’ve been meaning to try this! Definitely going to download it for my upcoming weekend breaks. I usually plan with a mix of screenshots, scribbled notes, notes in my phone and all sorts. This would be such a good way to bring everything together and plan my route.

September 22, 2016Where would the modern traveller be without technology…I sometimes wonder. It is a boon, undoubtedly. One is so much in control of where one is going and what one is encountering. But imagine a scenario without technology…the surprise element would rule.

September 22, 2016This really is a fantastic app and a great way of getting to grips with a city without having to rely on tours and coach trips and other such formulaic and invariably overpriced methods. Will certainly be getting it on my next trip back to Europe!

September 21, 2016We have heard about the gpsmycity app and it defnitely sounds like a great idea. Travellers completely rely on guides and route information when exploring a new city. This would definitely help.
