Toothsome Chocolate Emporium at Universal CityWalk, Orlando

Looking for some guilty pleasure?

Visit Toothsome Chocolate Emporium in Universal Orlando’s CityWalk and I bet you’ll have the time of your life. It is the newest hub to nibble on delightful treats and intake a bundle of calories in a few bites of incredibly delicious and mouth-watering desserts and milkshakes. Toothsome Chocolate Emporium and Savory Feast Kitchen is Universal Orlando Resort’s first themed dining destination with its 19th-century steampunk decor and endearing character interaction to its incredible menu that features a bit of the sweet and savory, this eatery is a must for any Universal visitor!

Being an annual pass holder of the Universal Studios, this is my must stop for every Universal visit since its official launch in September’2016. However, I’ve visited only twice since its opening. I couldn’t get the reservation on my first visit as the waiting time was more than 4 hours. Therefore I went inside the shop located on the right side of the entrance where you can get a wide variety of both freshly made and prepackaged candy, steampunk merchandise, and unique Toothsome merchandise. And trust me, you’ll not be able to stop yourself without buying a few treats if you’ve got a sweet tooth like me!

On the left side of the entrance is a dessert bar where you get exquisitely crafted milkshakes and sundaes to die for! The dessert bar was my savior that day as I stood in a queue for 60 minutes but I couldn’t regret it later as I got more than I expected!

I ordered Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshake which had sour cream ice cream, cheesecake, graham crackers, fresh whipped cream and chocolate dipped strawberry. It was the best treat to delight my tastebuds that day! I had more than 300 calories in a few bites and the feeling was priceless!

On my second visit to Universal Studios, I got a reservation inside a dining room. Though the waiting time was 45 minutes but I was excited to explore what Savory Feast Kitchen had to offer! What I did like was that instead of handing you a pager, they grabbed your number and sent you a text when your table was ready. That gave us the freedom to roam all over Universal CityWalk without the fear of being out of range. So, we walked through all the stores and burned time while we waited.

When we got back, they sat us right away. We were seated upstairs. I was amazed by the Steampunk themed decor. Interiors were cozy and the tables were very nicely spaced as they left enough room for everyone.

Our waitress came in a costume and greeted us. She was very polite and hospitable. She also shared a few jokes with us. The menu was American – sandwiches, burgers, pasta, etc. I opted for Vegetable Garganelli pasta and wine as I wanted to save a lot of space for my dessert. The pasta was delicious and the veggies over pasta were as fresh as they were coming straight from the farm.

If you’re lucky, you’ll even have the opportunity to meet Penelope Tibeaux-Tinker Toothsome, the creator of the restaurant, and Jacques, her robot friend! These characters will be visiting your table and greeting you! I enjoyed their banter with each other, it was cute! They truly immersed you in this environment.

Now the time came for which I was waiting…dessert! But it was a herculean task to choose the dessert from an incredible “sweet” portion of the menu with hand-crafted milkshakes and sundaes available. I felt as if all the desserts were calling my name and it was very difficult to choose one from them.

As it was an evening, my craving for caffeine enticed me to order Espresso Buzzzz which had coffee ice cream, espresso, chocolate espresso beans, fresh whipped cream with a cherry on the top. Oh boy! It tasted like heaven and was the best espresso I ever had!

I was unable to finish my Espresso Buzzzz inside the restaurant so I took it outside and finished it while strolling at the CityWalk! And yeah, Toothsome Chocolate Emporium gives you the dessert jar to keep as a souvenir! That’s so cool…isn’t it?

    1. Those desserts look so, so, so, so (how many so’s i am allowed to write?) delicious! I love the freakshakes and even if I only had one in my life as they are not so popular in England, every time I see a photo of one I start imagining the amazing flavours. I would love to visit the Toothsome chocolate emporium, it looks like it’s very worth the calories.

    1. Oh my goodness those desserts look incredible! I’m always amazed at the way people can present desserts so beautifully. Every time I bake at home or make a milkshake, mine definitely don’t look the same way!

    1. Chocolate Emporium sounds like Willy Wonkas chocolate Factory, but then all chocolate factories sound like that dont they? It reminds me of Cadbury World in Birmingham that I went to a month back. It had the largest ever Cadbury Shop in the world. 🙂
