8 Travel Hair & Makeup Tips To Live By
Traveling is one of the most enriching experiences ever. You get to see different countries, learn more about their cultures, meet different people, and have a great time with family, friends, significant other, or even just by yourself. Regardless of your destination, you want to look your best at all times, but taking a bunch of hair and makeup products isn’t overly practical. Fortunately, it’s entirely possible to look divine like those travel bloggers you see on Instagram with hair and makeup tips from this article.
1) Research the climate
Researching and getting informed about the climate of your travel destination is half the hair care battle. Why? The reason is simple; if you don’t know anything about the climate of that place, then you won’t be able to care for your hair properly. For example, if you are going somewhere with hot and humid climate, then you should pack a product that reduces curling and frizziness. On the other hand, if the destination is somewhat drier, you’ll need to pack shampoo or a conditioner with moisturizing effects to keep your hair smooth and soft.
2) Avoid dull complexion
Traveling is fun and exciting, but it takes a toll on your skin. Lack of sleep, waiting at the airport or a long drive in your care, then checking out the destination, only to arrive at your hotel tired with dull, lifeless complexion. If you take care of your skin properly, even when traveling, you won’t need too much makeup products in the first place, and that makes packing whole lot easier. To avoid dull complexion and make your skin appear well-rested and refreshed, don’t forget to take your skin brightener with you. Top skin brighteners target age spots and dark patches, even out your complexion, and make your skin glow.
3) Try different styles
When traveling, it is more practical to adapt your usual style to something that requires less effort or time. Let’s face it, you can’t spend hours styling your hair, and it’s needless to mention you’d have to take a bunch of products with you. You can always tie your hair up in a ponytail to look chic and still ward off dirt, dust, and so on. Moreover, you’ll also look great with loosely twisted or “messy” buns which are IN right now as well as with loose braids. Here’s another tip, when you’re back in the hotel, sleep with your bun or braids, tousle them out in the morning and you’ll get sexy beach waves.
4) Go dry
If you have a very busy trip and your itinerary doesn’t leave too much time to wash and style your hair, then you’ll benefit from dry shampoo. It reduces hair greasiness, brings back volume to your gorgeous locks without water. The best thing of all, it gets the job done in a few minutes, and you’re ready to go.
5) Don’t forget about your skincare routine
Since you’re away from home, it is easy to neglect your skincare regimen. However, as mentioned above, the healthy and radiant skin doesn’t need too much makeup. More importantly, beauty products and lack of skin care don’t go together. Make sure you have a facial cleanser and a quality cream with antiaging properties. The fight against wrinkles doesn’t pause when you’re on your trip. Creams like Revived Youth will help you look youthful with picture-perfect. Make sure you find TSA-approved travel size of skincare products, they’re more practical.
6) Long-lasting lipstick isn’t a good idea
Although it may seem long-lasting lipsticks are a great idea when traveling, that’s not the case. Wearing such lipstick all day will dehydrate your lips and parch your mouth; which isn’t that nice. Instead, you should use lip stain topped with clear lip gloss. This way, your lips will look sex and “just made-up” fresh at all times.
7) Simplify beauty routine
Of course, you want to look lovely when traveling, but you don’t need your entire makeup bag for that. So, when you’re not home, stick to the basics. Ditch foundation and use BB or CC cream instead, apply mascara, and lips stain/lip gloss as discussed above. As a result, you’ll look great, without using too many products. There is no need, particularly if your travel destination is hot, to use foundations, powders, highlights, and all those things. Travel is the time when you should relax and “soak in” the world around you; it’s not the occasion when you spend your precious time on makeup. Simplifying your beauty routine will make you look pretty, but you’ll do it much faster. If you’re planning going out while on vacation, spice things up with eyeliner.
8) Protect your hair
Sun and the wind can harm your hair which is why it’s important to protect it. You can do so and look stylish with a hat or hair scarf. In fact, the head scarf will make you look like you’ve just stepped out of a Hollywood movie, from back in time when actresses were classy and elegant like Grace Kelly. This isn’t only a protection measure, but great hairstyling and a perfect accessory.
It’s perfectly normal to want to look gorgeous when you’re traveling. But, since you can’t pack everything you own, it can become tricky. However, traveling is the skill that you have to work on to improve. Simplifying your hair, skin, and beauty routine will do wonders. When you bring the right products, you’ll look divine without making too much effort.

February 23, 2017The weather will really allow you to plan how you’re going to wear your make-up. These are great tips. Whenever I go somewhere tropical, I make sure that i don’t wear make-up at all, if I have to, I just put on a waterproof eyeliner and that’s it.

February 23, 2017Good call on these tips! I would have to say my favorite is not using long lasting lipstick. Honestly, I never would have thought about it if you had told me it would have dehydrated!

February 23, 2017Excellent tips. I have never tried dry shampoo before. It sounds interesting. I like to feel the water pressure on my head, so I am not sure how I’d deal with it. But I learned something new here. Thanks.

February 23, 2017Dry shampoo is wonderful! Especially when you are stuck on a long flight or road tripping it somewhere. I keep it in my bathroom to even use at home when I take a break from washing my hair. I can’t wash it every day since it’s normally dry, and the dry shampoo keeps my hair from becoming too dry and brittle.
