Casa Morada Hotel | A Slice of Paradise at Islamorada, FL
Overlooking the panoramic Gulf of Mexico, Casa Morada Hotel proves that how splendid a weekend getaway can be in the bosom of the mother nature! This boutique hotel has 16-bedrooms suites, located in Islamorada of the Florida Keys on US 1 Highway. From the tropical Floridian vibes to the breathtaking sunsets of Gulf, Casa Morada Hotel is an ideal getaway to unplug from the rest of the world and revitalize your soul.
I visited Casa Morada last weekend to escape the hustle and bustle of life and spend some good “Me Time”. I’ve to admit that I was truly overwhelmed by everything that Casa Morada has offered me!
Here are some highlights of my stay at Casa Morada!
The Tropical Vibe
From swaying Palm trees to stone fountains in the garden to a hanging swing, Casa Morada has stunning natural lush green landscapes to soothe any soul. The best part about this hotel is it is only for guests who are 16 years and above as the hotel focuses on creating a calm and relaxing environment for anyone who is looking for inner peace. Strolling in the garden was an experience in itself!
The hotel is pet-friendly and you’ll see many pet cats hanging at the reception. The cutest cat is ‘Miss Morada’ who loves snuggles, pampering and attention.
As soon as I entered the hotel, I was welcomed by the receptionist with a big smile. I had a smooth check-in experience and within a few minutes, I was escorted to my suite which had a Gulf view. Casa Morada has two kinds of suites – one with a garden view and the other with a sea view. The Garden Suites feature a separate living room, bedroom, outdoor terrace and a private balcony with the view of the tropical garden. The Sea View Suites are located directly overlooking the Florida Bay.
The Sun Suite
When I got my keys, I was excited to see what Casa Morada had to offer! As I opened the door, I was delighted to see my ‘Sun Suite’. It was a large room with a private balcony and a view to die for!
When I looked on the table, I was overwhelmed to see a bottle of Champaign welcoming me along with a personal message on the card. It was a very sweet gesture from the hotel.
The suite was very spacious with a beautiful setting of the modern decor and all the amenities available. It had a private balcony with the scenic view of the pool and the Gulf water. The King size bed was very cozy and comfortable. The bathroom had all the essentials available. There were two power sockets on each side of the bed as well as throughout the room and bathroom that made my life easier.
I’ll let the below pictures speak for itself!
I also loved the collection of books available in my suite! Whom else would you need to accompany when you’ve got books as your companion!
Casa Breakfast
Casa Morada offers a complimentary breakfast to all its guests between 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Whether you want breakfast on your bed or dining in the restaurant soaking the outside view, the hotel can accommodate you as per your need. The Casa healthy breakfast includes fruits, fresh juices, soy/regular milk, a variety of cereals, granolas, yogurts, bagels, croissants, bread, eggs, cakes and freshly brewed coffee. A healthy breakfast can energize you to do many activities for the rest of the day.
Casa Morada offers room service and poolside service for lunch and a limited room service dinner menu which is only available up to 8:30 PM. But if you want to experience some amazing food outside the hotel, there are many good restaurants in the vicinity. I was so much filled with my health brunch that I didn’t get the chance to experience lunch. For dinner, I wanted to explore some good restaurants outside. I went to Bumby’s Raw Bar & Local Libations and Bitton Bistro Cafe and really had an amazing time!
Sunset Cocktails
Every evening on the island bar of the Casa Morada, there is sunset cocktails hours where you can taste various hand-crafted signature cocktails, wines, beer, champagnes and specialty drinks. The sunset cocktails hours vary based on the time of the year.
Nothing can beat the experience of listening to the tranquil Gulf waves and watching the sunset while sipping your favorite drink! That moment was just priceless for me soaking the surreal view within myself!
The Pool
Casa Morada has a spectacular pool facing the pristine Gulf water, surrounded by comfortable lounge chair as well as hammocks to soak up the sunshine. You’ll get spellbound by the breathtaking view!
Surrealism at its best
Casa Morada is one such splendid hotel where you’ll see serenity meets tranquility. There will be a plenty of time when you can actually listen to your heartbeat. You can hear the gentle breeze passing your ears. You can watch how fishes swim. You can even see manatee sometimes near the pier if you’re lucky.
Casa Morada is the best place for some reflection and exploring your inner peace. I woke up in the morning and was mesmerized to see the beauty of the mother nature. Tears started rolling down my eyes but trust me, I didn’t have any reason to cry at that moment. I don’t know why I felt so vulnerable in front of the mother nature.
Maybe, we all are so busy and stressed out in the hustle and bustle of our lives that we hardly get time to enjoy little joys such as watching the first ray of the sun that glistened on our face, playing with the undulating waves at the beach or just sitting for few minutes and admiring the beauty of the mother nature!
If you have a hammock with a surreal view and a good read, you can’t complain about anything in your life, isn’t it? I found my inner peace and read some good books during my stay.
Yoga/Meditation Classes
Casa Morada offers a complimentary 60-minute Island Flow yoga class on either the pier or island depending upon the number of the participants. The yoga classes are only available on the weekends.
Sunset Sailing
If you want to experience the surreal sunset cruising in Gulf water with a glass of Champaign, Casa Morada offers a sunset sailing cruise. You can book the boat ‘Sol Sister’ that departs about one and half hours before the sunset.
Kayaks/Paddle Boards
Casa Morada also offers complimentary kayaks and paddle boards during your stay. I went for kayaking and had so much fun. I didn’t go for paddle boarding as I know that it’s not my cup of tea!
Snorkeling & Diving, Boat Rentals and Fishing Guides
Casa Morada also offers snorkeling gears and boat rentals. You can either do fishing at the pier or can rent a boat and go with the captain for a private snorkeling or fishing adventures. I didn’t go for snorkeling or fishing but saved it for my next visit!
Bike Rentals
Casa Morada also provides complimentary bikes if you prefer to explore the local attractions of the Islamorada. I really enjoyed my bike ride exploring this little island.
Other Amenities
Casa Morada also provides Spa services. If you’re interested in having a massage in your suite or outside, the hotel can arrange it for you. The hotel also has many board games, chess and a game of backgammon available inside the island bar and pool gazebo area to keep you entertained. If you’re interested in Eco Tours and Sailing lessons, Casa Morada can arrange it for you.
The Verdict
I had an amazing stay at Casa Morada. I loved its friendly and overwhelming ambiance. I had spent most of my time near the pool area and the bar and spent some good time with myself. I was mesmerized by the serenity and tranquility of this boutique hotel and would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a getaway to detoxify themselves from the worldly possessions of this materialistic world and looking for some inner peace.
