TATEL Miami| Experience Spanish Cuisine at South Beach

Located in the heart of Art Deco District, TATEL Miami is an upscale Spanish eatery at the Ritz-Carlton in South Beach, Miami, Florida. It is the second outpost of the Madrid-based restaurant and very first TATEL restaurant in the United States opened in March 2017. The King of Latin Pop Enrique Iglesias has teamed up with a popular celebrity tennis champ Rafal Nadal and San Antonio Spurs player Pau Gasol, along with partners Abel Matutes Prats and Manuel Campos Guallar to provide a scintillating extravagant dining experience at Collins Avenue.

TATEL Miami not only boasts of serving authentic remarkable Spanish cuisine but also an elite fine dining experience lime lighting the Spanish culture.

I visited TATEL last week during my trip to Miami and had an amazing experience!

The Entrance

The restaurant features 1920s style decor enduring with its signature style and glamor. The ambiance inside is dim, inviting and soothing to beat the scorching heat of Florida. There’s an elevated platform with a glass screen behind on which random moving silhouettes give the first impression of very retro and chic vibes. This is a perfect place to snap few pictures for uploading on your social media.

The Island Bar

The Island Bar of the TATEL Miami looks grandiose with its metal chandelier composed of more than a thousand bronze tubes and hundreds of LED lights.

In addition to its massive 200 seating, TATEL Miami also features many semi-private rooms as well as a special VIP dining suite with its own bathroom. The walls are decorated with Spanish-inspired art and murals. The dimly-lit, terrazzo floors, cushy booths and circular bars sets an elegant aesthetics blending perfectly with Art Deco charm.

The TATEL Miami has a sophisticated dining room that oozes opulence with its elegant setting. From its white tablecloths to glassware and silverware, TATEL has worked on every aspect of its aesthetics to provide a fine dining experience as well as an ultimate glimpse of Spanish culture and glamor. At the back of the dining room is a circular copper DJ booth cum stage giving it a euphonious credential. The ambiance of the main dining room is invitingly cozy as well as sophisticated.

The Food & Drinks

If you’re a fan of authentic Spanish cuisine, TATEL Miami knows very well how to entice the palate of any guest. From the huge collection of wines from various parts of the world to the signature dishes such as thin veal steak breaded and fried as well as Spanish tortilla and croquetas, TATEL has some amazing list of food and drinks to offer.

I ordered my food based on the suggestions of my waiter and I’m so glad that I did it! I ordered Tortilla Trufade in starter which was mouth-watering and incredibly delicious. It is a soft Spanish omelet made with potato confit and truffle paste. All the ingredients tasted fresh and balanced in every bite. I also got to know from the waiter that this dish is one of the favorites of Enrique Iglesias at TATEL. After having the first bite of this dish, I knew very well why it’s his favorite!

For the entrée, I ordered Rice with seasonal vegetable and Cream spinach with pine nuts. The seasonal vegetables tasted so fresh as if they were plucked from the farm and put on the table at that moment itself. The dominated flavors of Spanish spices blending perfectly with the veggies was absolutely delightful to my taste buds, just enough to give a nod to the Spanish cuisine that the restaurant boasts!

In contrast to the upscale artsy feel, the quantity of the entrée was more than enough for me to take home and eat for lunch, (or breakfast!) the next day.

I also loved the presentation of dishes as well as the way how they served every dish with so much love and affection. The server briefed me about the ingredients in my dish as well as how it is made with a warm smile. I can say that he was passionate about his work.

Then came the favorite part of my meal for which I was waiting — the dessert! TATEL Miami has some amazing selection of house-made desserts. I ordered “Torrijas” Spanish bread pudding with fresh milk ice cream and “Natillas” Spanish custard with meringue which was equally divine. You could try harder to resist!

After the dessert, I was served the refreshing drink that was an ultimate ending to my incredible dinner.

The Verdict

With its amazing food, impeccable service and outstanding hospitality, TATEL Miami is definitely a blessed boon to South Beach. If you’re fond of authentic Spanish cuisine, TATEL Miami has so much to offer. There’re plenty of wonderful dishes that I couldn’t try due to my limited appetite. Can’t wait to visit Miami to try its other delicacies on my next visit!

Thanks to the entire team of TATEL Miami for hosting my dinner and providing an incredible dining experience!
