Los Angeles Lookbook | My Gallery Of Street Fashion
Los Angeles — The home of celebrities, movie-stars, hipsters, palm trees, sunshine and around 4 million people is not only famous for its dazzling red carpet fashion but some of the trendsetting street styles by Angelenos that you don’t witness anywhere else in this world. LA is massive with diversified neighborhoods and you’ll see its impact in its fashion too. You’ll see the chic street styles in downtown or east side and more casual active wear or surfer style on the west side.
As a style traveler, I’m quite obsessed with street style fashion. One of the top itineraries on my list exploring any new city is strolling around all the famous streets and observe the trendy street styles of locals.
On my recent trip to the La La Land, I was there for eight days and rocked several street styles inspired by the vibrant LA vibes.
Look 1: The Downtown Look
[show_shopthepost_widget id=”3072545″]Happiness is when your outfit matches with the crosswalk…isn’t it? I’ve to admit that it was a total coincidence. Even my hubby asked me if I had already pre-planned this shot before in my mind!
Look 2: The Rodeo Drive Look
[show_shopthepost_widget id=”3072574″]This peplum hem jacket with flared bell sleeves and lavished floral embroidery is an ultimate beauty that I scored from Macy’s during Black Friday Sale. I replaced it with the denim jacket in the first look and voila, a brand new outfit was created!
Look 3: The Hollywood Look
[show_shopthepost_widget id=”3072618″]I wore this outfit while going to The Dolby Theater which is home to the Academy Awards ceremony. Don’t forget to click your pictures on its iconic red carpet stairs, feel like a star for few minutes and embrace that moment throughout your life!
Look 4: The Santa Monica Look
[show_shopthepost_widget id=”3080756″]Stripes are trending everywhere for the last few seasons and it is such a timeless style that creates a bold statement. So, for this look, I wanted to create a funky outfit. I mix-matched all kinds of stripes I had and it turned out just fabulous!
Look 5: The Griffith Observatory Look
[show_shopthepost_widget id=”3072732″]Sometimes even a vibrant jacket and scarf creates a magic that you’re looking for! If you’ve never tried any yellow jacket before, go for it as it is such a beautiful color full of life. Plus it just pops out so well in any picture you take!
Look 6: The Venice Beach Look
[show_shopthepost_widget id=”3080759″]I can’t believe that it was so chilled in Venice Beach that day. There was even a thunderstorm fora few hours. As Venice Beach is a little hippy town, was I not looking like a hippie? 😀
Look 7: Another Rodeo Drive Look
[show_shopthepost_widget id=”3080761″]Rodeo Drive is one of the iconic streets where you can see high-end shops and upscale fashion. But I preferred this casual look because I knew that I was ‘killin’ it’…haha! I got this culottes pants from Zara a few years ago and paired it with one of my favorite timeless sweatshirts that I got from a local boutique.
Look 8: Early Morning Look
[show_shopthepost_widget id=”3080764″]This was one of my favorite looks for an early morning walk in search of Starbucks. I’ve to admit that whenever I’m booking any hotel, I prefer Starbucks inside the hotel premises or in the vicinity area as I’m such a Starbucks addict!
Look 9: The Beverly Hills Look
[show_shopthepost_widget id=”3080771″]I wanted to wear only this summer dress that day but unfortunately, the weather didn’t allow me. I had no complains because I knew that I was ‘Still Killin It‘! 😉
Look 10: The West Hollywood Look
[show_shopthepost_widget id=”3080778″]West Hollywood is known for its buzzing nightlife and energy. The Sunset Strip is one of the iconic streets in West Hollywood where you can find upscale dining places with live entertainment, comedy clubs and many cool places where celebrities hang out. I wore this beautiful dress from Nordstrom with a bomber jacket while strolling on the Strip and just slipped the bomber and flaunted this floral dress while enjoying the nightlife!
How I packed my suitcase for LA trip?
While packing my suitcase, I was aware that LA is world renowned for its iconic street arts and cosmopolitan culture. Therefore, I knew very well that all my colorful outfits need to see the sunshine of the Sunny State and it was a perfect excuse to pack them! I also have this habit of checking the weather of any city in which I’m traveling before packing in order to be well-prepared!
When I checked the LA’s weather for that entire week, it wasn’t showing the usual Cali weather but mercury dipping between the 60s and 70s with showers on the few days. It was a bummer as I didn’t want to carry my boots and long coats. I trusted on my sneakers, bombers, sweatshirt and thought in my mind that if I couldn’t resist the temperature, I’ll buy something from there. Yes! I live in Florida and any temperature below the 70s is freezing for me…lol!
While packing my suitcase, the comfort is on the top priority while choosing any outfit as I believe in effortless style. Yes! I don’t want to waste my time in getting ready, straightening my hairs or applying makeup in a new city, instead, I want to go out on the street as soon as possible and start exploring what the city has to offer. Even, I never wear heels or stilettos on my trips because I want my feet to be happy. Therefore, when it comes to packing, I try to pack light and choose versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched to create many different outfits.
My only tip for LA packing is checking the weather first and plan your outfits as per the season. Mostly, LA welcomes all kind of fashion but if you want to take some impeccable pictures, pack bright colors and trendy outfits to create your signature style!
Do let me know your favorite street style from my LA lookbook in the comments below?
Till then, Happy Styling!
Love,
Ana

March 31, 2018My two favorite looks are number 1 and number 7. I really like how your yellow skirt goes with the pedestrian walkway paint. Lastly, look number 7 caught my eye because of the loose and flowy pants.
