There is a tragic story behind Arthur’s seat. It is said that Arthur Mallet lost his wife and kids in a tragic accident on the Savitri River. Arthur used to come and grieve at this point and therefore, the name Arthur’s seat.

Pratapgarh Fort — a historic landmark is one of the most popular tourist attractions near Mahabaleshwar. It was built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja in 1656 to mark the struggles of Maratha empire in achieving Swaraj.
