Caribe Royale Orlando: A Tropical Getaway | Review
Caribe Royale Orlando — One of Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotels is a 53 acres tropical paradise that offers all-2 rooms-suites resort and villas for your family vacation as well as business retreats.
I was recently hosted by Caribe Royale along with my husband to experience its amenities on my visit to Walt Disney World and I’m excited to share my review about this splendid Orlando getaway.
About The Property
The resort is located on World Center Dr. in the Lake Buena Vista area and is just minutes away from the Walt Disney theme parks and other attractions. Caribe Resort Orlando is independently owned by Sierra Land Group, Inc. It was established in 1996 after the opening of its adjacent sister property, Buena Vista Suites. The property is massive with 3 tower buildings featuring 1,215 bedroom suites and 120 villas to meet the needs of all kind of guests. The suites accommodate 6 guests as well as the villas accommodate 8 guests. The suites are fledged with all the regular amenities. However, the fully renovated villas have a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and all the comforts of home.
The Entrance & Check-in
As soon as we entered the driveway area of the resort, I could see the tall palm trees surrounding the peach colored towers. The parking in front of the lobby was sufficient enough to park your vehicle before check-in. We were greeted by one of the staff members in the lobby and he directed us to the check-in area. We were again greeted by the receptionist and had a smooth check-in in less than 5 minutes.
The Lobby Area
Stepping into the lobby of Caribe Royale gives you the vibe of opulence. From the dazzling chandeliers to the glowing of numerous bulbs in the tropical setting of Palm trees give a remarkable first impression. The reception is just left of the entrance.
The other side of the lobby is connected through a passageway that leads to the pool area which is surrounded by the three towers. This entire area gives the impression of an enormous courtyard that connects the entire resort.
One of my favorite parts about the lobby in the Caribe Royale was the rotunda of The Venetian Chop House. It gives a strong personality to the striking decor of the lobby and sets a positive aura.
It is also a must-spot to take some amazing pictures during your stay as where else you’ll find the Venetian vibes in a tropical setting!
The Suite
All the suites in Caribe Royale have two rooms — one living room, bedroom, vanity area and bathroom. My room was spacious and located on the 10th floor in tower 3. The living room had a full-sized sofa bed, refrigerator, microwave and a work station with plenty of charging points. My bedroom had two comfy queen sized-beds with soft mattresses, plenty of pillows and a spare blanket in the closet. Both the rooms had flatscreens TV. There was free WiFi to connect 4 devices per room. However, there was an option available to buy a premium plan.
The bathroom and the vanity area was located in the center of the suite connecting both the rooms. There was also an option of closing a door between both the rooms in case if someone wants privacy. The bathroom had all the regular essential amenities.
The View From My Suite
My suite had a pool view and it was quite splendid. Let the below picture speak for themselves!
The Pool Area
The pool area is one of the striking features of Caribe Royale. From the tropical pools with waterfalls to a waterslide to hot tubs and kid’s pool, the resort gives you a vibe of Caribbean paradise. The entire pool area is quite inviting to soak in the sun and enjoy Florida’s weather.
If you want to stay away from the buzzing pool area, you can also rent cabanas for a day away from the pool and enjoy the sunshine.
Food & Drinks
Caribe Royale has multiple dining options to satisfy the palate of everyone in your family. The Tropicale restaurant provides an option of casual dining and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Don’t forget to try their popular buffet breakfast if you’re heading to theme parks as you’ll need tons of energy.
If you’re looking for island fun with a poolside blend, Calypso’s Pool Bar and Grille offer Floribbean menu with al fresco dining as well as light bites. This place is very crowdy during the evenings but the ambiance is lively. I tried a black bean burger and it was neither too soggy nor too dry but just perfect the way how I like my burger to be!
Caribe Royale is also home to The Venetian Chop House — one of the renowned upscale dining places in Orlando. It has been a AAA 4 diamond award winner and recently won it again for 2019 for it’s 16th consecutive year. The Venetian offers contemporary cuisine including signature steaks, chops and fresh seafood. Some of the popular dishes that you can try are the lobster bisque especially with the golden brown puff pastry, award-winning crab cake, Chilean sea bass which is flaky and melts in your mouth. If you’re a steak lover, you can never go wrong with any of the cuts of meat. Ensure to book your reservation in an advance if you’re planning to dine here.
There’s also Café 24 that offers 24 hours dining experience with homemade pastries, pizzas and other delicacies.
For all the coffee lovers, Java’s Coffee Cafe serves continental breakfast, ice-cream along with coffee, espresso and lattes.
Other Amenities
Caribe Royale also has an Island Spa & Salon, a fully equipped fitness center, tennis and basketball court and a 1.5 mile running/biking path. You can also rent bikes, pool toys, fishing gear, tennis & basketball equipment on property. The resort also organizes season activities such as yoga and spin classes for its guests. There’s also a game room, a business center and a gift shop in the lobby from where you can buy a souvenir for your Orlando getaway.
There’re valet and regular parking available per day with nominal charges. Guests can also book theme parks tickets and limo/town car service at the concierge. Even the stop for a Disney shuttle is just outside the lobby of the main reception. The resort also offers a complimentary shuttle to the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores at specific schedules.
The Verdict
From amazing hospitality to the excellent service, I had a wonderful stay at Caribe Royale Orlando. I’d also like to mention that the resort was fully sold out during our stay. However, I didn’t see any chaos or issue anywhere. The staff was highly skilled to meet the requirements of guests at their best.
We went to the Walt Disney theme parks during our stay. Therefore, didn’t get much time to enjoy all the amenities of Caribe Royale. I’d highly recommend this resort if you’re looking for a tropical getaway in the vicinity of Walt Disney World.
Thank you to the whole team of Caribe Royale Orlando for making my amazing stay!
