Effortless Sari Styles | What To Wear Traveling In India?
Sari — A 5 to 6 yards traditional ensemble wrapped around a waist is one of the ethnic attires worn by Indian women. Its sheer elegance and versatility make it one of the most popular wardrobe staples among the Indian subcontinent. Wearing sari in India is a must if you want to feel the essence of culture and capture some splendid pictures on your trip. However, draping sari neatly around the waist is not everyone’s cup of tea. The entire process of draping a perfect sari is quite intimidating. The aesthetic of the finished sari’s entire look depends upon how neatly it has been wrapped, pleated and draped. With the needs of modern women, effortless sari trends have evolved. That means you can rock any of the new sari styles now without taking any professional help.
1) Dhoti Sari Trend
Dhoti Sari is a hybrid of sari and dhoti. It comes in a two-piece set comprising a blouse and a dhoti (skirt which is closed from the bottom) along with a long pallu attached to the dhoti. It is effortless to wear and looks chic. My only tip to wear Dhoti Sari is wearing a loose blouse in order to create a contemporary look with traditional elegance.
Wear your Dhoti Sari over stilettos, slippers or even sneakers and pair it with chunky earrings and you’re all set to rock the look. The Dhoti Sari style is just perfect if you’re going to attend any ethnic or Diwali party or even getting a photoshoot done at any magnificent palaces or splendid monuments in India.
2) Pants Sari Trend
Pants Sari trend is one of my favorites this season. The style not only gives the look of authentic Indian sari but also adds a flair of its own charm. It is easy as a pie to wear. All you need is to wear a blouse and pants. The drapes are already attached to the pants and you just need to slip in!
Pants Sari gives you plenty of options to style. If you don’t want to wear a conventional blouse, go for crop tops, tank tops, or even a formal shirt in order to create your signature style. Choose light fabrics such as chiffon or crepe silk for a slimmer look or wear a broad high-waist belt to add your personal touch.
3) Skirt Sari Trend
Skirt Sari is one of the simplest ethnic pieces to wear if you’re visiting any historical monuments or landmarks in India. You can either buy lehenga-style sari or pair any of your skirts with a blouse and stole and viola!
I wore this skirt sari recently while visiting Bangalore Palace and got many compliments for this look!
You can also design your own Skirt Sari by getting stitched any of your old saris or fabrics. Choose bright colors with patterns or embroideries and pair them up with crop or ruffle top.
Why you should wear effortless sari styles while traveling in India?
Sari is one of the most beautiful attires that you can wear in India and also, it has a lot of cultural significance. The history of sari has been traced back to the centuries ago by Indus Valley Civilization. Glad that we live in a time where multiple sari trends has been evolved and acceptable. The modern fusion sari trends in India give an opportunity for everyone to be comfortable without compromising with their personal style. If you’re looking for a modest fashion, nothing can beat the elegance of sari in India.
Do share your experiences if you’ve tried Dhoti Sari, Pant Sari or Skirt Sari before in the comments below? If not, what do you think about these sari styles?
Till then, Happy Styling!
