Bangalore Fashion Week 2020 | My Entire Experience
Bangalore Fashion Week is one of India’s leading fashion events similar to Lakmé Fashion Week. Organized by Dream Merchant & presented by Wear.Style, this 4-day fashion extravaganza held twice a year at the luxurious 5-star hotel The Oterra in the heart of an Electronic City in Bengaluru, India. The star-studded event promotes the work of budding as well as renowned designers from the Indian fashion industry.
Earlier this month, Bangalore Fashion Week celebrated its 22nd edition and featured new products line, festive collection, ethnic fusion and brand launches. Being a fashion enthusiast, I was so delighted when I got an invitation to attend the fashion week. Unfortunately, due to my other commitments, I couldn’t watch all the shows. However, I’m pretty excited to share the two of my favorite shows from the Bangalore Fashion Week 2020.
So sit tight, relax and enjoy a glimpse of the runway shows that I attended!
Bangalore Fashion Week 2020 shows that I’ve attended
1) Bohe by Neetu
Bohe was one of my favorite collections at Bangalore Fashion Week 2020. Bengaluru based renowned fashion designer Neetu M has curated boho-chic line for the free-spirited modern woman.
The title of Neetu’s collection was ‘Zainab‘ — an ode dedicated to her father and husband Naveen who helped her to be what she’s today. Her collection offered an extensive range of ensembles embedded with a rich color palette and free-flowing silhouettes that oozed sophistication and chic at the same time. Moreover, there wasn’t a pair of stilettos in the show.
Sustainable design is the future and what I loved most about Neetu’s collection was a sustainable, eco-friendly and effortless style! I wish more designers should be thoughtful about the global climate crisis and promote sustainable fashion.
Neetu’s collection was a combination of hard and soft elements, delicate embellishments and a mish-mash of aesthetics. All the pieces were beautifully assembled, highlighting the persona of free-spirited women.
ii) Mimi by Michelle Salins
Another Bengaluru based young cocktail wear famed designer Michelle Salins surprised the audience with a new launch of her athleisure collection titled ‘Mimi’ dedicated to ‘YOU’ i.e every woman.
She presented on runway her extensive collection of sports bras, leggings, vests, slim-fit hoodies in stripes and floral prints. Promoting active living, Michelle’s collection showcases the pieces that will sculpt, lift, support and flatter the body of all women’s shapes, boosting their self-confidence.
After watching Michelle’s show, I also got a chance to meet her. She has a vibrant persona and a million-dollar smile. We both have spoken to each other virtually a number of times, but it was a wonderful experience to meet her in a person!

What I wore at Bangalore Fashion Week?
On my Day 1 at BFW, I wore above yellow cold shoulder dress from Nordstrom which is currently sold out. I decided to have a retro look for Day 2. I’ve got a thing for Polka dots. Therefore, my dress was a white halter Polka dot dress from Macy’s which is also currently sold out. However, I’ve linked similar pieces for you. I had a high hairdo that created a signature style for my entire outfit.
