Have you ever felt the need to escape the chaos of Bengaluru’s city life? To reconnect with nature and find a little peace and tranquility? Well, I have found the ultimate luxury getaway for you – Java Rain Resorts in the picturesque coffee town of Chikmagalur in Karnataka, India. Nestled among the Mullayangiri hills and surrounded by lush green coffee plantations, this resort offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valley. Imagine waking up to the sound of birds singing and the aroma of fresh coffee, it’s pure magic. Trust me, you won’t regret treating yourself to a stay at Java Rain Resorts, it’s an experience you won’t forget.
How to reach Java Rain Resorts?
The nearest airport is Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, but don’t let the 4-5 hour drive scare you away. The journey to get there is just as beautiful as the destination itself.
The scenic views along the way are absolutely worth it, I’m talking fields upon fields of coconut trees, it’s a visual treat. And that’s not all, you’ll also witness majestic windmills and serene lakes along the way. And when you finally arrive at Java Rain Resorts, let me tell you, it will be worth every minute of that drive. But do check the latest update on the route and traffic conditions before you leave.
A Warm Welcome
As I stepped into Java Rain Resorts, I was immediately struck by the serene beauty of the lush green surroundings and the fresh aroma of coffee wafting through the air. I knew I was in for a truly rejuvenating and relaxing experience. And let me tell you, that was just the beginning of the magic.
I was greeted with open arms and a warm smile by the lovely receptionist, Ashima. But, she didn’t just stop there, she even came to my car and opened the door for me, talk about going above and beyond for her guests. And as I walked into the foyer, I was astounded to witness the breathtaking view of the Mullayangiri hills and valley, the chilly breeze in my ears, and the sweet sound of chirping birds already had me convinced that this getaway was going to be nothing short of superb.
And once I was checked in, the resort went with a sweet gesture of offering me a black ginger and molasses drink to boost my immunity, which was a thoughtful touch given the cold weather. It’s these small details that make all the difference, don’t you think?
The Villas at Java Rain Resorts
The opulence of the villas at Java Rain Resorts is truly unmatched. With 25 villas of richly appointed comfort and spectacular views, it’s no wonder why this place is a true paradise. But what truly sets this place apart is the balance they’ve struck between luxury and sustainability.
The Java Rain Resorts truly knows how to cater to their guests’ every need with their 4 categories of villas: Qahva, Kaffa, Fika, and Fika with a private pool. Each one of them has been designed with the utmost care and attention to detail, ensuring that the ecology of the area remains undisturbed. And I was lucky enough to stay in the Kaffa villa, complete with a spacious bedroom, attached living room, and a deck area that opened up to a breathtaking view of the estate.
If you’ve been following my adventures for a while, you know that I am a sucker for a good view from my resort room. And let me tell you, the Villa Kaffa at Java Rain Resorts did not disappoint.
Just take a look at this picture, it speaks for itself. I was greeted with a stunning vista every morning. The spacious room, the luxurious amenities, and that view, it was truly the perfect trifecta.
But the real showstopper was the bathroom, with an open shower and a gentle view of the open sky, it was truly #BathroomGoals. Unfortunately, I forgot to take the picture of an open shower. 🙁
Imagine waking up to such a view, feeling truly blessed by nature. It’s these little details that make a stay at Java Rain Resorts truly unforgettable.

The restaurants
I) Mirra
The resort is home to Mirra restaurant, an all-day dining spot that overlooks the infinity pool and the lush green valleys, and I have to say, it’s truly something special. From buffet breakfast to lunch and dinner, as well as an a la carte menu, there’s something for everyone at Mirra. The restaurant serves Indian and continental cuisine, with a focus on authentic local flavors.
But my favorite part was the outdoor seating for breakfast, with views of the coffee estate, valley, and hills, it was nothing short of breathtaking.
And let me tell you, the servers at the restaurant were top-notch, always serving the food with love and care for their guests. They went above and beyond to ensure that everything was warm and perfect, and they didn’t leave our side until we finished our meals. It’s these little touches that truly make a dining experience indelible.
ii) Crimson Peak
If you’re looking for a truly one-of-a-kind experience, then you simply must check out the Crimson Peak at Java Rain Resorts. This tree bar is crafted to perfection, standing tall at 50 ft, offering the best panoramic view of the entire city of Chikmagalur and the Mullayanagiri range. And let me tell you, it’s the best spot to catch the breathtaking Chikmagalur sunset.
Unfortunately, during our stay, they were not serving drinks at Crimson Peak, but they were offering complimentary evening coffee and tea along with snacks. And while the complimentary aspect was appreciated, it did lead to quite a chaotic scene during sunset time with tons of guests.
But, let me tell you, the coffee and the view more than made up for it. It’s truly an experience that’s not to be missed.
Activities
The Java Rain Resorts truly has something for everyone. Whether you’re looking to relax by the infinity pool, indulge in an Ayurvedic spa treatment, or keep the kids entertained with the play area, this resort has it all. Plus, they have a gift shop where you can pick up a little something to remind you of your stay.
But that’s not all, the resort also provides complimentary bikes for guests to use to get around the property, as well as free guided coffee plantation tours. And, for those who prefer not to walk around the property, they also have golf carts available for guests’ use. It’s a massive area, and the resort has taken care of all the guest’s comfort.
The Verdict
I simply cannot recommend Java Rain Resorts enough. The Java Rain Resorts is a true gem nestled in the heart of nature. It’s truly a testament to the fact that luxury and environmental responsibility can coexist in harmony.
My stay there was nothing short of relaxing and rejuvenating. From its incredible hospitality to delicious food to breathtaking views, the resort is the ideal choice for a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday.
