New Orleans Lookbook | What I wore

New Orleans is like no other city in the United States. Its French Quarters have their own old world charm. Whether you want to admire the NOLA’s best architectures or simply want to get drunk and party hard at the Bourbon Street or get a glimpse of year around celebration of Mardi Gras at Mardi Gras World or eat the best beignets at Café Du Monde and enjoy the other Cajun delicacies that The Big Easy has to offer, New Orleans knows very well how to entice its visitors.

Before packing for any destination, it is important to check the weather. The NOLA’s summers are long with scorching heat and winters are cool and windy. The average daily high temperature is above 84°F. In winters, the average daily high temperature is below 67°F. So in case if you’re planning to visit New Orleans soon, check the weather forecast so that you don’t have to regret later.

I visited NOLA last month and the heat was pretty brutal, hot and oppressive. As a style traveler, I always try to pack those pieces which are easy to mix and match, transforming to a new outfit. Seeing the weather forecast in 80’s, I decided to pack light cotton fabric dresses which were effortless to style, comfortable to wear, ready to beat the heat and creates a signature street style statement.

Here’s the list of brands that I wore which are important staples of my summer wardrobe this season.

1) Bell Sleeve White Lace Dress

A White Lace Dress is an ultimate wardrobe staple to beat the summer heat. This Bell Sleeve PinkBlush lace dress (which is currently sold) is one of my favorites and I loved strolling the French Quarters of New Orleans in this darling dress. I added H&M belt to give it a personal touch. This dress not only created a signature style while rocking the streets of NOLA but also, it is very light and comfortable so that I could feel the breeze.

2) One-Shoulder Ruffle Dress

Ruffle Mania is trending this season and I’m obsessed with this trend. So how could I ignore this beautiful floral and ethereal one-shoulder dress from H&M. Ruffles not only look feminine but also chic and sassy.  I wore this dress and hit the Bourbon Street, one of the iconic party streets of New Orleans that never sleeps. I added a scarf to give a personal touch.

3) Romwe Sweatshirt Dress

This Sweatshirt Maxi dress from Romwe is an ultimate addition to my wardrobe this season. Rather than wearing the boring active wears while strolling in the morning, I preferred wearing this Sweatshirt dress on the marina of the NOLA and took some morning fresh air as well as soaked myself with some splendid view. I also wore this dress on my recent trip to Miami.

4) Another Ruffle Dress

This is another darling dress from Tommy Hilfiger that I adore from my ruffle mania collection. This high-waist dress is absolutely perfect for summers. The fabric of this dress is very light and comfortable.

5) Denim Flared Bib Dress

This bohemian denim dress from Zaful is unique in itself. The delicate embroidery on the neckline and sleeves are quite splendid. I wore Nike sports shoes to give this outfit a trendy look. I walked almost 5 miles and this dress was very comfortable.

    1. I love your outfits. Especially that purple one-shoulder. Super cute. NOLA is such a neat place to experience. The culture, the food. I will say that summer time while being pregnant and having a toddler with you is no-so-fun for that experience. haha. Great post
